SFYB Limited Edition Levi’s/Schwinn Sting-Ray Auction

Schwinn and Levi’s have come together to create and donate a limited edition Levi’s® Kids x Schwinn® bike to our vibrant biking community. A 10-day auction will start on Thursday July 9 at 7 pm and end on Sunday, July 19. View the auction here: goo.gl/KsFjQN

About the Auction

For many of us growing up in the seventies, the sight of a Sting-Ray bicycle evokes a sense of nostalgia — memories of carefree living filled with laughter, innocence and long locks of hair. The most famous Sting-Ray models, the Krates, were produced by Schwinn between 1968-1973, right in the middle of the flower power era. Today they are some of the most iconic bikes known to man. On that note, San Francisco Yellow Bike is excited to announce that Schwinn and Levi’s have come together to create and donate a limited edition Levi’s® Kids x Schwinn® bike to our vibrant biking community. The money raised in the auction of this bike will go a long way in helping San Franciscans with limited means get reliable transportation that can drastically improve their life situation, health and overall happiness.

The exclusive piece of co-branded nostalgia features unique design elements that pay homage to the Levi’s® brand. Aside from brand logos on the top tube, the seat of the bicycle looks as if it was stitched together like a pair of Levi’s® jeans, with a batwing symbolizing the Levi’s® red tab. The chain guard cleverly incorporates a cross stitched arcuate and rivets – classic features of Levi’s® denim. Perhaps the most exciting part of the bike is the rear reflector shaped like the Levi’s® batwing logo. We hope you are as excited as we are to see this classic come back to life in a brand new way. The 10-day auction will start on Thursday July 9 at 7pm and end on Sunday, July 19 at the same time. Make sure to mark your calendar today!

The Revolution Will Not Be Motorized

We do it to give all San Franciscans greater access to affordable bikes. We do it for the environment, reducing traffic and auto exhaust as well as landfill-bound refuse. We do it for our community, teaching volunteers who donate their time the valuable skills of bike repair and maintenance, skills that last a lifetime. The San Francisco Yellow Bike Project combines passionate expertise, positive volunteerism, and donated bike parts into a healthy, grassroots, two-wheeled revolution.
