Start 2016 off with a BIKE!

2015 was an exciting year for the San Francisco Yellow Bike Project! Thanks to all our volunteers, donors and supporters, our efforts were recognized when we received the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition’s Golden Wheel Award. We could not have done this without the continued support and hard work of our volunteers and community members like you. Thank you!!

Now as we pedal into 2016 and invite you to start your year off with a donation to help us make even more of an impact on our community. Every dollar donated helps to get more folks empowered and on their bikes.

For many community members, particularly in the Tenderloin, SFYBP is the only low-cost resource available where they can maintain their own bike, find the parts they need at a price they can afford, and gain access to the knowledge needed to work on their bike.

In the last year, San Francisco Yellow Bike Project’s all-volunteer team worked hard to provide over a 100 open shops nights for the community, 3,283 volunteer hours, and around 125 bikes pulled from the landfill stream to be ridden again. We empowered community members by improving access to the tools and knowhow that keep bikes working efficiently and safely. Our mission is putting more people on bikes, especially those with limited resources and the greatest transportation needs and we did that in 2015. With your help we’ll continue to serve all that need us in 2016.

All donations are tax deductible and are put towards educating, empowering, and getting more folks on bikes! Please consider a tax deductible donation to the San Francisco Yellow Bike Project and give the gift of biking to those who need it most.

$1000 sponsors our shop insurance for a year
$525 sponsors a week of shop nights (rent, bills, utilities, etc)
$175 sponsors one 3 hour shop night (rent, bills, utilities, etc)
$100 sponsors trash service for a month- so the shop don’t stink!
$50 sponsors a new pump for the shop for all to use
$40 sponsors a beer or other beverage for each of our volunteers, once a year
$25 sponsors a month of degreaser to keep bike chains active
$15 sponsors new tubes & brakes on a recycled bike to get it ridable
